I have moved my postings from Facebook (FB) to Blogspot. I liked the fact that on FB, I was just talking to friends, but Blogspot allows me to write more. This means I can be more concise with my communication.
The first post I made on FB was the one on the right (under "About Me"). I encourage you to read it now to understand a bit more of what follows.
This is the second post I made on FB:
“Yesterday, if you read my post about Mrs. Long, you might have wondered what is next. (If you didn’t read it, I encourage you to do so now.) Well, this is next: take a look at yourself. Where do you see yourself five years from now? If you think you are in a rut, it is because you lack a mission or a goal. You can’t go anywhere if you don’t have goals and enthusiasm for reaching them. More later. NOW THINK!”
In the mean time, if you are reading this for the first time, you should begin to think strongly about where you see yourself five years from now. What do you aspire to? Many people haven’t ever thought about this and they just live day-to-day. And, well, living day to day is ok, but honestly, it’s not optimum. Optimum is being excited about where you are going EVERY DAY. And you can’t be excited by where you are going EVERY DAY, if you don’t have any goals. Because if you don’t have any goals, you can’t have a path. And if you don’t have a path, you are somewhere in the forest or the desert wandering around aimlessly. And that’s no way to live. So until I return, take some time to think about your vision of yourself five years from now.
Lastly, since this is the first real post of this blog, a little intro is in order. For those of you that don't know me, I have been described as a mix between Larry David and Ricky Ricardo (that's not far off in some areas, I suppose). I don't like small talk and I'm opinionated. My time is valuable (to me). I love to learn, and in fact, one could characterize me as having an insatiable desire to learn. I know a little about a lot and a lot about a few things. I am fascinated by people that know how to play musical instruments and that are born with superior innate talent, whatever that may be. And I like to play basketball; I especially like to shoot the ball when the game is on the line. And lastly, I love to help people succeed. That is what this blog is all about. Welcome!
